Westwood Blvd. back in the day.

UCLA campus in the 1930s
More interesting photos of old LA here.
The weather. It’s always sunny, average temperature of 75-80 degrees F allow
for flip flops all year long. I didn’t appreciate the weather until I realized I’ll be experiencing actual seasons in the east coast in a couple of months. I’ll miss the sun.
The campus. IS BEAUTIFUL. Sure, I was complaining about construction around campus all the time, but this shows that UCLA is constantly expanding with new buildings and structures. There’s lots of green and the architecture is nice. Many families visit the campus during the weekends with their kids, so it’s almost like a big park.
Westwood village and surroundings. Situated between Bel-air, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and West Hollywood, not only do I feel safe at night, but there are lots to do. There are lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance in Westwood Village. Shopping centers, music venues, clubs, bars, theatres, restaurants, and the beach are all only a 25 cent bus ride away for UCLA students.
Fun fact: Westwood used to be crawling with violence and the village was actually pretty abandoned. The programmer analyst and my boss at work told me, they are UCLA alumni. Here’s an article by the LA times about this topic.
